Beta cells in pig pancreas

SHANEL histology revealed individual or groups of beta cells within islets of INS-EGFP transgenic pig pancreas that is several centimeters in size. 3D reconstruction of nanobody boosted EGFP transgenic pancreas imaged by light-sheet microscopy. After SHANEL, all labelled beta cells became evident in the islets throughout the pancreas. In the second part of the movie, segmented EGFP+ islets are shown.

Permeabilization-based clearing enables antibody-based 3D histology in large human organs — brain, kidney, and beyond — paired with scalable computational analysis.
