Biography

My name is Philip, and I studied Neuroscience and Molecular Biology in Heidelberg, where I became fascinated with brain function and structure. I moved to Leipzig University for my PhD and postdoc to work on auditory lateralization and human white matter structure.

During that time, I was introduced to DISCO clearing, light-sheet microscopy, and learned how to handle and analyze huge datasets efficiently — which is also what I do as a staff scientist in the Ertürk Lab.

Other than science, I have a passion for music concerts and love outdoor sports like rope climbing and kitesurfing.

Research interests

DISCO tissue clearing, light-sheet microscopy, white matter structure, and terabyte-scale imaging data analysis.
